Purdue. Carsen Edwards. 29. . G. . 81

Perhaps the best solo performance the NCAA has seen in a tournament in years, Carsen Edwards put on a show in the March Madness run for Purdue, putting up two 40-point performances in just a four game span. Edwards went from a rarely talked about player to a household name in just a short time.

The Raptors are probably not ready to move on from Kyle Lowry yet considering he helped lead the team to the Eastern Conference Finals this year. Lowry has not been an elite player lately and has lowered his play this year despite being at his best in the past few seasons with the Toronto Raptors. Edwards may not be the best guy to fill Lowry’s spot, but he would be entertaining.

I have seen very few players in my life that can score at will the way Carsen Edwards did in the tournament this past season. His shooting was impeccable and he was able to score off the dribble or off the pass with ease. He scored in a variety of different ways, but the three-pointer was definitely his strongest part of his game.

Edwards is not much taller than 6’0″ and is going to get pushed around a little bit in the NBA probably. His defense and rebounding are not expected to be very good and his shot selection may not be ideal for the NBA game. He can get caught up with himself at times too which can hurt the team.

Player Comparison: C.J. McCollum

This comparison is all about two guys who are viewed as small for their positions who are both able to fill up the scoreboard on any given night. Their playing styles are not super similar, but they are both more than capable of scoring in a variety of different ways and in bunches depending on the opponent.
