North Carolina. 93. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. F. Cameron Johnson. 24

One of three potential first round picks for the North Carolina Tar Heels, Cam Johnson is a guy that made a lot of big strides in his play which helped push UNC into contention this year. Although he is the third Tar Heel going in the draft, his role with the team was perhaps the most important this season.

The 76ers are preparing for what will likely be one of the craziest summer in franchise history. After falling to the Raptors in the Eastern Conference semifinals, the talks have ramped up on whether this team is actually built for success or not. With one of the most elite starting lineups in the NBA, many believed the Sixers should have had a better end to the season.

Cam Johnson would add a quick impact scorer off the bench for Philly, something they really needed in these playoffs. Johnson is a great three-point shooter with a quick release and an excellent ability to come off screens ready for the ball. He is a good defender, a decent slasher and a pretty good rebounder for his position.

Johnson still needs a lot of work as a finisher both at the rim and just in general off the dribble. He has fallen into a handful of shooting slumps during his time at UNC which have been semi worrisome until he pops out of them like nothing ever happened.

Player Comparison: Justin Jackson

This comparison is kind of funny because they played at the same school and the same position and really look a lot alike physically and on the court. Jackson has been a sharpshooting specialist in the NBA, although his game is still kind of preparing to take off. Jackson’s ability to attack the basket is the primary difference between the two players.
