Kentucky. . Tyler Herro. 18. 100. . G

Possibly the best shooter in the NBA Draft this year, Tyler Herro is hoping to carry some of the success from his time at the University of Kentucky into the big leagues. Despite being on a team full of future NBA players, Herro really shined during the NCAA tournament where he showed off his scoring prowess.

The Indiana Pacers have a pretty good team going right now, but a nice scoring punch off the bench would always be welcomed. The Pacers went through a bit of a change a couple years ago when they made a trade around Victor Oladipo, Domantas Sabonis and Paul George. This change ended up being great for both teams as the Pacers have been in the playoffs the past two years.

Herro is a great scorer, that is definitely where his greatest strength lies. He is an elite three-point shooter but also a solid scorer all around. His athleticism has helped him become dangerous from catch and shoot opportunities as well as off the dribble scoring. He is also a solid rebounder and defender for his size.

The downside to Herro’s game is that he knows how good of a shooter he should be and sometimes he can get into a situation where he forces things. This leads to some overall bad decision making at times.

Player Comparison: Devin Booker

Perhaps a poor man’s Devin Booker should be the actual player comparison, but Herro looks to be a similar style scorer with his ability to score effectively at all levels. Booker is one of the best in the league at that and they have developed a similar step-back move that likely stems from their time at Kentucky.
