Indiana. Romeo Langford. . G. . 11. 20

The Indiana Hoosiers had a disappointing season this year, missing the March Madness tournament and falling short in the NIT despite being a one-seed. Even though they were not the team they wanted to be, Romeo Langford had a solid year, keeping his status as a likely lottery pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Lakers need so much help they probably aren’t sure what to draft. With LeBron James leading the way, the rest of the Lake Show consists of young guys who haven’t fully developed into formidable NBA starters. Even still, a complementary guard next to Lonzo Ball is probably a good direction for the team to go.

Langford is a big guard that likes to score the ball. He had the ball in his hands a lot this year with the Hoosiers, but his natural position is definitely a two guard at 6’6″. Langford’s first instinct is to attack the rim, something he does very well. He should be a good defender in the league, but it will take some focus on that end of the court.

Langford did not shoot the ball particularly well from deep this year. His free throw shooting was also suspect, but the hope is that both of those things can fix themselves going forward. He played a lot on ball this year but that is not going to be his strength. He will do better with the ball moving so that he can find a lane to slash through.

Player Comparison: Bradley Beal

This comparison has a lot to do with the way these two prefer to score which is in the lane pushing the ball constantly. Beal has been a good but not ideal defender in his time in the league which is probably what Langford is looking at as well. His fit in LA could be interesting but it should work out in the end.
