Sixth Man of the Year

Lou Williams

“This guy just keeps doing it. One of the best 6th men of all-time, Williams has to be the pick here. He led his team to the playoffs despite the odds being against him. Williams proved yet again this year that he is one of the toughest players to guard in the entire league.” –Sean Bush

“Ever heard of the back to back sixth man of the year. Ding ding ding! Lou Williams wins it again. He only started one game this season, but in around 26 minutes of action, he averaged 20 points on 36 percent shooting from three. Even after the Tobias Harris trade, Williams guided the Clippers to the playoffs where he continues to impress and come up in the clutch. This is award is undisputed.” –Arsal Hussain

“This award should probably be renamed the Lou Williams/Jamal Crawford Trophy. Williams is easily the pick here. He average 20 points and almost six assists per game off the bench. I’m currently watching him carve up the Warriors and I’m kind of hoping he’s wearing a Mavs’ jersey next season.” –Ben Zajdel

Dallas Mavericks

“Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams deserve to split this award. There play off the bench was exceptional, which ultimately led to a surprising playoff birth out West. However, for the sake of the question, I’ll go with Lou Williams.

It may seem like simple analysis, but Williams is a true baller. He is there for the team, despite coming off the second-unit, Williams, for stretches, puts the team on his back like an all-star player. At 32 years of age, Williams finished with a career-high 32 usage rating. It’s apparent he is a force to be reckoned with.” –Lance Roberson

“Lou Williams may not just be the best sixth man this year, he may be among the very best ever. The journeyman guard has clearly been totally overlooked during his time in the league and has found a home with the Clippers. It is rare that one of the absolute best scorers in the entire league is on the bench. In recent years, Jason Terry, Manu Ginobili, and Jamal Crawford have been dominant off the bench. None of them have been able to wreck a game the way Williams can.” –Evan Siegel

“This award should just be given to the Los Angeles Clippers since the top two sixth men in my book played for the same team. Even still, Lou Williams will get the award unanimously over Montrezl Harrell thanks to his incredible play this year.” –Kohl Rast
