8. Khris Middleton

I really want to like Khris Middleton but there is something about him that I have struggled getting behind. I can’t put my exact finger on it because I really do like him, I just don’t think he can bring to the team what these guys I have in front of him can.

That said, I really am a fan of Middleton. I think he can be a really good player going forward and I think that he and Giannis Antetokounmpo have created a really good thing in Milwaukee together. Middleton is a solid offensive player, shooting nearly 38% from three this year, helping him towards over 18 points per game.

He is a pretty good rebounder as a wing and his assist numbers are really good, although that could have a little to do with the fact that he plays with the Greek Freak on his team. Either way, the biggest thing you are adding when bringing in Middleton is his offense.

Middleton also happens to be one of the best players in the league at creating steals. He averaged only 1.6 steals per game this year but over the four years prior to this one, he averaged at least 2 steals per game each season. His defensive ability tends to get a little overshadowed by Giannis, but he is a very reasonable defender and would play the wing well for the Mavs.

The Bucks understand how good Middleton is. In all likelihood, they will be bringing Middleton back or at least prioritizing him this summer. I think he is going to get a nice contract, but the Mavs have supposedly expressed interest so don’t rule it out fully.
