10. Danny Green

Danny Green has been an underrated player for several years of his career. He is a great example of a 3-and-D guy who can produce what the team needs on both ends of the court. Green had a slow start to his career, playing only 28 games through his first two seasons, but once San Antonio realized his game, he has been a major contributor to his team for 8 seasons.

The biggest pro to Danny Green is his skillset meshes perfectly with Luka Doncic. Luka is a great offensive point guard who can create really well for himself and his teammates. With a sharpshooter like Green standing close by, things would look really good for Dallas. Plus, he would be able to make up for some of Luka’s defensive woes.

Green has shot over 40% from three for his NBA career so far. He averages 9 points and 3.5 rebounder per game for his career, while also averaging 1 steal and 0.8 blocks. He is a solid free throw shooter as well, something the Mavs need desperately.

The biggest setback to Danny Green is probably his age. I have no idea what kind of money Green may be expecting, but it is likely not going to be in the higher range as far as contracts go. No, the biggest issue is probably that Green is going to want a contract for three to four years and the Mavs won’t want to offer that to a guy that is 32.

If Dallas can talk Green into a shortened contract, I think that would be a conversation worth having, but if he does want some job security going forward, there are better things the Mavs can do with that money.
