1. Kawhi Leonard

It is hard to see a better player with a better fit for the Mavericks than Kawhi Leonard. Leonard had a bit of a falling out with the NBA crowd after his fiasco with the San Antonio Spurs, but he has proven in his time with the Toronto Raptors that he is still a top five player in the league. With his incredible play on both ends of the court, Leonard is a hard player to beat.

Kawhi’s fit with Dallas would be seamless. Although he is a player that is best with the ball in his hands a lot, he is not one that starts with the ball as frequently, relying on his point guard to put him in a position of success. Luka would do that for him very well. He would also benefit with having another go -to shooter on the team with Kristaps.

The Mavs would benefit because they would have one of the best pure scorers in the league on their team. His offensive ability has been really unbelievable since the day he entered the NBA and it just continues to improve every year.

Of course, the more impressive part about Kawhi’s game is that he is arguably the best defensive player in the league. His long reach, big hands and quick feet all combine to make him one of the most versatile and hard to get around defenders the league has ever seen. His role next to Luka would make this team incredibly difficult to beat.

The chances of the Mavericks landing Kawhi are very low. He will likely either stay in Toronto or go to one of the Los Angeles teams. I can’t imagine any situation where Leonard ends up in a Mavs uniform, but I sure love the idea of it.

Next. Breaking down the Mavs roster heading into next season

The Dallas Mavericks will have no shortage of options this summer, but these are the 10 best guys for the team in my estimation. All we can do is wait and see if the Mavs are able to secure any of these free agents.
