Three-Point Contest

Steph Curry

“I want to say Dirk Nowitzki will win the 3-point contest, and I hope he does, but I think this one means a lot more to Steph Curry. The All Star Game is in his hometown of Charlotte, he’s competing against his brother, Seth, and he’s going up against a slew of point guard challengers. Dirk will have trouble moving from rack to rack, and I think he’s just there to have fun. Steph will put on a show and win.” –Ben Zajdel

“Betting against Stephen Curry is a dangerous game. I look for Stephen Curry to outclass most of the contestants with a smile on his face. My dark horse candidate is Buddy Hield. The addition of Dirk Nowitzki is a noble gesture. However, the most challenging obstacle for Dirk will be getting around the ball carts.” –Lance Roberson

Seth Curry

“Are you not entertained? This year’s winner will be a Curry, but it won’t be Stephen winning his second trophy. This is Seth Curry’s year, and big brother will have to deal with it. Seth has been impressive this year, shooting 46 percent from behind the arc for Portland. Look for Seth Curry to come out blazing (slight pun) and claim his own trophy to add to the sibling rivalry.” –Manny Dixon

Dirk Nowitzki

“I would never forgive myself if Dirk Nowitzki won this thing and I didn’t pick him. Dirk will take home his 2nd Three-Point Contest title in what is likely his final NBA season and All-Star Weekend. The old man might have some trouble getting around the racks in the allotted time, but when it comes to pure shooting, Dirk can still hit shots with the best of them.” –Sean Bush

Buddy Hield

“Hield has been shooting a blistering 45.2% from 3 this season. There won’t be too much pressure on him and I believe he will bring his A-game to the 3-point contest. I’ll definitely be rooting for Dirk though.” –Badees Nouiouat

Joe Harris

“Sorry Dirk, and sorry not sorry Curry and Splash Brothers. Joe Harris has been on a tear lately, averaging a career best 45% from behind the arc. 51% of his shots attempted this season were from three and 52% of his points were from behind the arc. He’s already made 121 threes just midway through this season. He looks very deserving.” –Arsal Hussain

Damian Lillard

“This one is going to be fun. There are so many good shooters in the competition this year, with the NBA expanding to 10 guys instead of 8. In a crowded field, I am going with perhaps the best streaky shooter in the league. If Damian Lillard catches fire early, no one can stop him. Dark horse candidate is Buddy Hield who has been scorching this year.” –Kohl Rast
