Dallas Mavericks: The Dallas sports youth movement peaks with the Mavs

Been too busy with life to process old shots and practicing new techniques for some new takes on old things (not flickr worthy yet). I'm also learning some new gear I bought. So here is one from the summer series. Enjoy. And thank you for looking.

Texas Rangers: Joey Gallo, Nomar Mazara, Jose Leclerc

The Texas Rangers are definitely the team that is the furthest away from success at this point in Dallas. After a very disappointing season that resulted in a bit of a fire sale to kick off a real rebuild, the Rangers are ready to start setting up for the future. The retirement of the great Adrian Beltre definitely helped in that decision.

Despite a rough team, the Rangers do have some young players that have been producing for the team for years. This isn’t even including the young prospects in minor league ball currently.

Joey Gallo (25) was considered one of the best prospects for the Rangers when he started showing out in minor league ball a few years ago. Although his play has been hit-and-miss since then, Gallo still represents a young, pro-ready player for the Rangers. He could also be a decent trade piece next year if necessary.

Nomar Mazara (23) represents perhaps the best player for the Rangers going forward. Although his hitting has been inconsistent through the first few years of his career, he is still a very talented player that can definitely improve in the upcoming years. I don’t think the Rangers will be looking to move Maz.

Jose Leclerc (25) is the last name on my list because of his efforts as a closer last season. Although he did not inherit the role until the end of the year, he came out with 12 saves and 85 strikeouts with only 10 earned runs. He had a great season and looks like a solid player or trade chip for the team entering a lengthy rebuild.
