Dallas Mavericks starting point guard Dennis Smith Jr. is dealing with a wrist injury that should be a bit concerning for fans and more Mavs news.

The Dallas Mavericks earned a hard-fought victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 21.  It took a second-half rally, but the Mavs won 119-113 to continued their recent hot play.

The starting five again played well except fans were panicking about Dennis Smith Jr.  He only saw 19 minutes of action.  Smith Jr. was limited to four points, two assists, one steal and two turnovers against the Nets.  It was an injury that curtailed his minutes.  Here is a Tweet from Eddie Sefko explaining the details.

Fans could see the visible tape on his wrist during the game too.  This is a storyline to follow heading into Saturday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics.  The Mavericks need Dennis Smith Jr. healthy to defeat the dangerous Celtics.  Keep an eye on his status as tipoff approaches.

Didn’t limit DSJ too much

The wrist injury did not keep Dennis Smith Jr. from producing what may be the highlight of the season for the Mavericks.  Fans have to relive it again, so here you go courtesy of the Mavs official Twitter.

DSJ continues to produce highlight moments, and the statistics are improved this season.  It is way too early to write off the 20 year old.  Expect continued growth throughout this season.
