The “you can probably pencil them” in group

The following group of under contract players have jobs that are essentially their’s to lose. Here is the list.

Devin Harris

We all know and love Devin Harris, but more importantly, so does the Mavericks front office and staff. Harris is a longtime fan favorite. He’s also still a quality player that knows the schemes and is a close friend of Dirk and Barea. It would be pretty surprising if Harris missed the cut.

Ray Spalding

The rookie big man out of the University of Louisville flashed a lot of skill in Summer League. He’s a fluid athlete, has legit three-point range, above average dribbler for his size, and projects to be a good rebounder.

DeAndre Jordan the long-term center solution for Dallas?. Must Read

The Mavericks demonstrated their confidence in Spalding by signing him to a four-year deal. They also traded away Jonathan Motley, their rookie big from last season. Spalding isn’t going anywhere.

Ryan Broekhoff

Who?? Broekhoff is a 28-year-old small forward from Australia. He has played his entire professional career overseas and is regarded by many as the best shooter outside of the NBA. Broekhoff won’t wow you athletically or with his skill set, but he is a very smart, team-first player. Think Doug McDermott last season. Broekhoff reportedly chose Dallas over several other teams, and his elite shooting should be crucial to help to shore up one of Dallas’ most significant weaknesses.
