Shabazz Muhammad

Shabazz Muhammad has had an interesting career so far with the Minnesota Timberwolves and most recently with the Milwaukee Bucks. He started his career looking like he would be a solid scoring option for whatever team he played for, but things have changed since then. Last year especially, Muhammad looked out of place and did not do what he needed to on the court to get more time.

The fact that he really doesn’t play much defense definitely did not help his chances of gaining more playing time either. After spending his college career doing exactly that at UCLA, Shabazz wanted to carry that into the NBA.

Even though Dallas would love to add some defense, they could also use some offense off the bench too. With instant offense from the 25 year old, Dallas would improve the 2nd unit a little bit. They would also be able to get him for a cheap, rental deal as he will not be able to argue much on his contract offers.

I don’t know that Muhammad would get along great with Carlisle, as I am not sure what his locker room presence will be like. All I know is that they could use some bench scoring and he could provide that. Especially if Dallas doesn’t bring back Seth Curry to bolster up their bench units.

In his career so far, Muhammad has averaged 9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in just under 18 minutes per game. His shooting percentages are solid and they have been solid most seasons. He could be a really good addition.
