Noah Vonleh

As far as young prospects go, Noah Vonleh is someone who I am very intrigued by. After spending 2.5 seasons of 15 minutes a night in Portland, Vonleh got a little change of pace and bounced up to 19 minutes per game and the adjustment showed in his numbers. In the final 21 games of the season with the Bulls, Vonleh averaged 7 points and 7 rebounds in 19 minutes per game.

These numbers are by no means jumping off the paper, but at only 22 years old, Vonleh still has a chance to have some serious growth over the next few years. Even though he is a restricted free agent with Chicago, there is a good chance that anything over a minimum contract could talk Chicago out of him, especially with the addition of Wendell Carter Jr. and Chandler Hutchison.

Vonleh would probably not get a huge jump in minutes with the Mavs right off the bat, but he would come into a better situation than he was ever in with Portland or Chicago. He has the tools to be a great rebounder and potentially a decent scorer as well and the Mavs may give him a chance to maximize that potential.

I’m not saying Vonleh is the perfect fit for the Dallas Mavs or that we should throw a lot of money at him, but with his youth and potential for growth, he could be a decent option if the Mavs strike out in other areas.
