NBA mock draft 6.0: Final predictions before the draft
By Kohl Rast
The 76ers are looking good after last year and will be wanting to add even more talent this season. Although their cap situation is murky, if they do take this pick, I suspect it will be used to add another wing for some depth. Mikal Bridges would give them a great shooting source for the driving Ben Simmons and would also be great on the defensive end. He could take over the starting job from Dario Saric so that he can step into the 6th man role.
Mikal Bridges may not be the most obvious fit for Philly, but if he is there, I suspect they won’t hesitate to snag him.
The Charlotte Hornets have been rumored to be starting over their rebuild process soon and many believe that will include a trade of star point guard, Kemba Walker. We are not so sure about those rumors. Instead, we think the Hornets will snag Kevin Knox out of Kentucky. Knox looks like he is ready to make a notable impact on both ends of the floor and the Hornets will love his size and length.
Knox will have to find his spot with the Hornets, but the team is going to do well as long as they hang on to their building blocks.
Unless Doc Rivers intends to hand over the keys to the offense to his son, the Clippers may want to consider a new point guard in this draft. Milos Teodosic has the tools to be good but was severely disappointing last season. Instead, the Clippers should pick Collin Sexton, the dynamic point guard from Alabama who made himself known this last season.
Sexton will give the Clippers an immediate slashing guard with shooting potential on its way. He has been really good about being the hardest worker on the court, which is a mindset that teams will really like. His defense should be solid too.
Next: Los Angeles Clippers, Denver and Washington
