19. 125. . . C. Mitchell Robinson

MANNY: The Atlanta Hawks are going to take one of the biggest risks of the draft, and for it, they will be rewarded with a sleeping giant. Mitchell Robinson has drawn comparisons to the likes of Tyson Chandler and DeAndre Jordan. He may even be the second coming of, dare I say, one Dikembe Mutombo.

I know, his gaudy numbers of 25.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and six blocks per game came as a senior in high school. The lack of collegiate competition is a legitimate cause for concern. However, at 7’0”, with a 7’3” wingspan, there are some things college can’t add. Robinson has all the physical attributes and potential to be a great defensive big in the NBA.

. . PG. Khyri Thomas. 20. 86

KOHL: A 3 and D type player, Khryi Thomas is a 6’3″ guard with a 6’10” wingspan. His time spent at Creighton University gave him the chance to learn and grow under a great coach and work as a team as opposed to a solo act. He may not be a stereotypical point guard, but he will find a good place in the NBA.

The Timberwolves are going to need some help next year coming off the bench. Jeff Teague is a good point guard but is not an elite player and needs some help, especially on the defensive end. Thomas could work side-by-side with Teague or give him a time to rest. Either way, he is a good fit in Minnesota.

21. 118. . . SF. Dzanan Musa

SEAN: I have to admit, I am a sucker for the European guys. Musa has some major question marks on the defensive side of the ball but his offensive skill set is too alluring to pass up on here. The Utah Jazz were the league’s top defensive team in the NBA this season and can afford to gamble on a playmaker that might be a liability on that end.

Musa can shoot, pass, and dribble extremely well for a 6’9” player. Musa would fit in well behind Joe Ingles and could provide a nice spark for the offense in the bench unit.
