Los Angeles Lakers

If you are talking about young teams with a whole lot of potential, the Philadelphia 76ers should probably be the first team mentioned, but I think the Los Angeles Lakers should be next. With youngsters filling out their roster, the Lakers have a bright future ahead of them from that alone. Add in the fact that they will be a popular free agent destination this summer and you have yourself a potential playoff team.

The rumors are everywhere with the Lakers free agency endeavors of 2019. Paul George is one of the names that has been thrown around frequently as many from LA believe it to be a done deal already. Then there are, of course, the LeBron James rumors. If the Lakers can land those two players, they are undoubtedly a playoff team.

Even without the LeBron rumors, the Lakers will have a lot of cap space this summer. With a young core, the bright lights of Hollywood, and Magic Johnson in the front office, the opportunities for the Lakers are endless. This team may not be a playoff team in its current state, but the moves they make this summer should make them a threat in the west once again.

Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Ivica Zubac give the team a great core of youth that in itself should make great strides next year. Kuzma has proven to be a solid scorer, Ball a solid all-around player, and Ingram quickly becoming a star in his own right, this team is no joke going forward.
