The NBA is full of the most elite basketball players in the world and there are only so many roster spots to go around. Kyle Collinsworth worked his butt off to get to where he is, but with the Dallas Mavericks getting ready to shake things up, will Collinsworth get another opportunity?

The MFFL fanbase is something pretty amazingly loyal year after year. Fans of the Dallas Mavericks are not just fans of a basketball team, they are also fans of individual players. We see this every season when the Mavs have to go into offseason with a new plan on how to approach the upcoming season. This plan includes decisions on who should stay and who should go.

I wrote a post about who I believe the Mavs need to keep and who they should let go and Kyle Collinsworth was on the line for me. I love his tenacity and his excellent defense, but it is hard to overlook his nonexistent offensive game. I am concerned that other teams will think the same thing.

I truthfully think that Collinsworth will land on his feet somewhere in the NBA. I would love for that somewhere to be Dallas, but Mr. Triple-Double has the skillset to be in the pros for years to come. It is taking time for him to prove his case, but this year with the Mavs should help him a lot.

People are going to know what they are getting with Collinsworth. He is a do-it-all type player that offers versatility and energy at the guard position. On many occasions this past season, Collinsworth was seen guarding the opposing teams best player. At the top of his game, that is exactly what Kyle can offer a team.

I don’t know exactly what teams will need a player with his specific skillset, but someone will. Here are just a few of his highlights.

Needless to say, this is a talented basketball player. I hope the Mavs find a way to retain Kyle Collinsworth but, either way, this guy will definitely land on his feet.
