All-Star Game

The All-Star game is no longer in the format of East vs. West and the teams are now based on a draft that happened weeks ago between LeBron James and Steph Curry. Here are the staff picks for who picked the better team.

Team Steph

“If the World-USA game was any indication, the current reign of the three-pointer applies to the All-Star weekend as well. With guards such as Dame, Klay, and Lowry on the team, Team Curry will likely win in a shootout.” –Paul Wang

“Team Bron will have the highlights but Team Steph will have the win. My money is on the sharpshooters keeping the game out of hand while the Greek Freak shines inside. Giannis Antetokounmpo for MVP, but Damian Lillard will give him a run for it.” –Kohl Rast

“Team Curry has Steph Curry and James Harden, the two best players from the two best teams in the league. That should give Team Steph the advantage on Sunday night. And if that’s not enough, Team Steph has serious star power off the bench with Lillard and Lowry.” –Dusty Bryan

Team LeBron

“LeBron James’ All-Star team is unfair. Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Kyrie Irving is just ridiculous. It is no secret that the game will not be filled with real competition and instead will be an extension of the dunk contest, further explaining why Team LeBron will beat Team Steph. In another shootout, Lebron’s team prevails 175-160.” –Evan Siegel

“I would have quickly said Team LeBron after the draft but injuries hit their team hard. Given that Steph has more shooters on his squad, it’s hard not to lean that way. But Team LeBron has KD, Kyrie, Russ, and LeBron himself. That foursome is hard to turn down. Team LBJ with KD as the MVP.” –Michael Mulford

“Even after losing four original picks due to injury, LeBron’s squad is still stacked with the most versatile players in the competition. I can’t bet against a team consisting of 7-foot guards and snipers.” –Emmanuel Dixon
