Three-Point Shootout

The competitors in the Three-Point Shootout are Eric Gordon, Devin Booker, Klay Thompson, Bradley Beal, Wayne Ellington, Kyle Lowry, Tobias Harris, and Paul George. Here are the staff picks for the sharpshooter of the night.

Wayne Ellington

“The ex-Maverick they dubbed ‘the man with the golden arm’ in Miami has seen a career resurgence of sorts and has a great shot to upset Klay Thompson.” –Paul Wang

“So many great shooters in this group but I’m going with the dark horse: Wayne Ellington. Mavs fans are familiar with Wayne as he played 45 games in Dallas during the 2013-14 season. Ellington is a pure shooter, through and through. Make it Wayne!” –Michael Mulford

Eric Gordon

“This was the toughest decision to make for me. It was a toss up between the last two winners: Gordon and Klay Thompson. In the end, I believe we’ll see a back-to-back champion.” –Emmanuel Dixon

Klay Thompson

“Klay Thompson might be the best catch-and-shoot player in NBA history. While Eric Gordon will be looking to defend his title, few have ever been able to hit the three ball with as much consistency as Thompson. Bradley Beal and Devin Booker will also give him a run, but Thompson will put any discussion of who is the league’s best shooter to rest.” –Evan Siegel

“The Golden State Warriors star is shooting over 45 percent from 3-point range this season, and his career average is over 42 percent from beyond the arc. It is hard to beat that. Thompson has made tons of huge shots in his career and I think he turns it on tonight to take home the prize.” –Dusty Bryan

Devin Booker

“Booker is one of the best shooters in the league and has taken the league by storm in his first few seasons. Although he still does not get the recognition he deserves due to him playing for Phoenix, he is going to turn some heads tonight. Booker is my pick to take home the hardware, with Paul George in 2nd.” –Kohl Rast
