Mario Hezonja

Why the Mavs should try to get Hezonja: Mario Hezonja shows quite a bit of potential with his skillset. Not only can he be a streaky scorer, but he is also a reasonable all around player. He may not be doing what was expected of him just yet, but international players often need to be put in the right environment to really thrive. Dallas can offer that environment.

I think that Hezonja would be a good addition to the Dallas Mavericks because of a need for more wing depth and his scoring ability. This would be a great addition if the Mavericks did end up losing Seth Curry in the offseason, because it would give the Mavs an immediate scoring threat off the bench, if he can figure out his shooting woes.

Why the Mavs should not go for Hezonja: There is a pretty specific trade partner that the Dallas Mavericks are looking for and Orlando does not fit that criteria. Dallas does not want to lose draft picks, especially not first rounders, and a team like Orlando is looking to add picks. The only way this would work is if they are willing to part with him for a veteran and/or a second rounder.

Why the Magic should let Hezonja go: Hezonja has been a major disappointment for the Magic, which has appeared to be a trend with their recent draft picks. The news that they are willing to trade Hezonja has been out there for a little while and so they are just looking for the right price.

Why the Magic should hold on to Hezonja: In my opinion, they need to give him more time. He is a young player from a foreign country and a foreign style of play and that doesn’t usually translate very quickly. However, they look eager to give up the ghost on Hezonja, so maybe things will change.
