P.J. Tucker

Switching gears here a little bit, P.J. Tucker has never been what you would call an elite player. In fact for a majority of his career, he has been overlooked. This is simply because of his gritty playstyle that does not fill up the stat sheets by any sense of the word, but is just an overall talented player that every team could use.

Tucker is 32 years old already, which is the type of player that Dallas seems to be avoiding this offseason, however, this time the Mavs should consider making an exception.

Dallas Mavericks

For the first time in this post, we have a guy that would actually be a good player for the team without breaking the bank. Tucker has been a role player his whole career and that doesn’t look to change anytime soon. However, we could also offer him a great team with a good system that fits his attitude and nature.

The Dallas Mavericks could use a player like Tucker because he does a little bit of everything well. His defensive ability is outstanding and would give Dallas another wing defender that can only help. His rebounding is good for his position and he has shot over 40% in every season he has been in the league. His attitude would be a great addition to a very professional team as well.

Tucker would like it in Dallas because we could give him a spot on the team and in the immediate rotation. He had a few great years in Phoenix before being traded to Toronto and now has a cloud of mystery over his head. If the Raptors decide to part with him, the Mavs may have a good shot at snagging him in free agency.

This relationship would not work simply because of Tucker’s age and availability. If the Raptors decide they want to keep him, he probably will not leave, but if the team is parting with him, the only thing really stopping the Mavs from calling would be the fact that he is 32 years old.
