Tim Hardaway Jr.

Of all the players on the list, Tim Hardaway Jr. would probably be my favorite addition to the team. At 25 years old, the 6’6″ shooting guard from the University of Michigan has played his best year of NBA basketball to date. In fact, if you compare this season to the three before it, it’s not even close.

Dallas Mavericks

No one is really sure where this elevation in game came from, but one thing is for sure, Hardaway Jr. is about to get paid. I may be in the minority here, which is nothing new for my opinions, but I believe the Mavericks should be ready and willing to pay him. Although his three-point shooting leaves a lot to be desired, his overall scoring ability is something Dallas could work with.

Dallas would love to have THJ because he is scoring at an elite level, he is young, and he comes from a great bloodline for basketball. There will be some difficulties paying the youngster what it might require to add him, but in the long run, I think the team will see he is worth it. After taking a chance on an unproven Barnes, Hardaway Jr. might be a similar move.

Tim Hardaway Jr. would like joining the Mavericks because he would be joining a good organization with aspirations of the playoffs and the money to join the conversation. The way I see it, this youngster has earned some money and a lot of teams will be willing to pay. However, the teams that will probably be calling first will be the teams near the bottom of the standings. Dallas is one of those teams, but is a great organization that had one down year.

The two would not match I think only if Dallas is unwilling to pay or if Atlanta makes him a priority, both very realistic possibilities. I do not know if the Mavs will pursue him, but if they do, he would be a good addition to the team.
