The NBA Draft Lottery is a day away and the Dallas Mavericks are ready to find out where they will fall in the draft order. Here are the top 10 players and who the Mavs should be wary about.

The NBA Draft preparation has been going on for months and the Dallas Mavericks have been right in the thick of it as they patiently wait to learn of their draft position and who they might take depending on where that is. Now, with a little over 24 hours until the Mavs draft position is set in stone. Here are some of the players Dallas may be preparing to take in the draft.

Keep in mind that these players are marked as either “buy” or “sell” based on how I personally feel they would fit in the Mavericks system. This is not a view of the player overall, (obviously these are the top 10 prospects), but rather reasons that they would do better or worse if the Mavs decided to take them in the draft.

On top of that, the Mavericks are drafting for both best available and position need right now. It will definitely be important to the Mavericks to get the right player at the right pick, but drafting something like a center does not make a whole lot of sense for the team.

The team’s leading needs are currently between point guard of the future or someone to step into a Dirk-like role as the team prepares for the transitional period of the post-Dirk era. Bench depth will also be very critical for the team as time rolls on, but firming up the starting lineup will be the goal with a high first round draft pick.

Here is my take on how the Dallas Mavericks should view the top 10 prospects in the upcoming 2017 NBA Draft.
