NBA 2K16: Mavericks wish list
By Rami Michail
With the 2003 Dallas Mavericks being rumored in NBA 2K16, it got me thinking…which other Mavs’ squads should be in the game?
The options are many, as the Mavs have had plenty of stacked and talented teams over the years, so I’ll try my best to keep this list short!
Sadly any team with Rajon Rondo, Lamar Odom, and Devean George were automatically omitted from my selection.
1. 2005-2006
This is where my Jerry Stackhouse fandom kicks in. The team that got ROBBED in the Finals is easily my first choice.
Dirk Nowitzki obviously headlines this team and all the others, but he had plenty of scoring help, which is always great to have in 2K.
Josh Howard and Jason Terry headline the supporting cast, which also consisted of Stack, Devin Harris, and Marquis Daniels.
Erick Dampier and DeSagana Diop platooned at center to give the team plenty of size inside.
The final piece to the team is probably the best player to ever back up Dirk…Keith Van Horn.
Overall this team had it all. Scoring, enough shooting, size, and depth.
2. 2010-2011
The Champs are here! Behind Dirk and Terry, the team threw out their best center during the Dirk-era, Tyson Chandler, had Jason Kidd running the offense, knocking down shots, and playing great defense, and the versatile Shawn Marion at forward.

DeShawn Stevenson brought a fun and much needed toughness and swagger to the team. Forgotten player, Caron Butler, who was the team’s second leading scorer before going down was also on the roster.
Roddy “Buckets” Beabouis, Brendan Haywood, Ian Mahinmi, J.J. Barea, Corey Brewer, and Peja Stojakovic added depth and key elements to the roster.
3. 2003-2004
This team was the definition of “Nellie-Ball”. Dirk, Steve Nash, Michael Finley, Antawn Jamison, Antoine Walker, Howard, Quis…this team was just stacked with scorers.
Shawn Bradley, Danny Fortson, and Eduardo Najera were the big men on this team, but why play them when you can just go small ball?
Dirk at center, Jamison/Walker at PF, Josh/Quis, Finley, Nash…just spread the court and bomb away!
If the 2002-2003 team wasn’t leaked, they’d be in a very close tie with this squad.
That’s my list. What’s yours?
