Former Dallas Mavericks great, Dirk Nowitzki, went out to Germany to participate in a charity soccer game recently and he left us with some great highlights as always.

The Dallas Mavericks said goodbye to Dirk Nowitzki the basketball player at the end of last season, but they will never say goodbye fully to the man who put in 21 years of work to make the franchise great. This summer has been a weird one, knowing that Dirk is no longer going to be with the team next year, but he has still become a special part of each Mavs fans life.

For that reason, we still keep track of his everyday life via social media. Dirk will never lose his sense of humor, something that sticks out to Mavs fans about him for sure. He loves cracking jokes on Twitter, whether it is about himself or a friend. But nothing beats when his jokes come through his own actions.

A great example of that happened just days ago when Dirk Nowitzki participated in a charity soccer game in Germany. Dirk has always been entertaining when he participates in these celebrity events and charity events and that is no different on the soccer field.

Clearly Dirk needs to put in some work on his penalty kicks because his percentage is nowhere near his free throw percentage from his NBA days. This was tough luck on his free kick, catching iron like that. Just when he probably thought he could do the celebration he had been planning, the ball came roaring back at him.

We all love seeing Dirk continuing his participation in these charity games, showing that even though he is now out of the league, his community outreach will never end. This was also clear during his celebrity baseball game that he hosts every year. We can continue to look forward to that one for years to come, from what it sounds like.

Dirk is the greatest athlete in the history of Dallas sports and no one can convince me differently. It is sad knowing we have seen his last NBA game, but he continues to make lasting memories for those of us who get to keep up with him on social media.
