Dallas Mavericks Final Roster Predictions for 2015-16 Season

With Media Day taking place today, the Dallas Mavericks are set to open up training camp tomorrow (Tuesday 9/29).

As part of our Training Camp Series coming out over the past two Mondays, we have covered a complete roster preview while breaking down the biggest position battles going into camp. Today is the final installment as four of our top writers make final roster predictions that will come out of camp.

For the sake of review, here is the players under contract for the Dallas Mavericks heading into training camp.

Guards: Deron Williams, Wesley Matthews, J.J. Barea, Devin Harris, Raymond Felton, John Jenkins.

Forwards: Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons, Justin Anderson, Jeremy Evans, Dwight Powell, Charlie Villanueva, Jamil Wilson, Maurice Ndour, Jarrid Famous, Brandon Ashley.

Centers: JaVale McGee, Zaza Pachulia, Samuel Dalembert, Salah Mejri.

The instructions for the predictions were simple. At the end of training camp, who will be on the final 15 man Dallas Mavericks roster with the final 3 players in bold being the final players who won’t dress most nights.

Notes

*We all have JaVale McGee to make the final roster but could his health play a factor into his roster decision? My guess would be no, but if he can’t play during training camp and a player like Salah Mejri really dominates through camp, it would at least tempt the Mavs front office.

*Predicting the 12 players who would dress out the most seemed to provide the most differentiating opinions as Kohl and Jay predict Evans to be a guy who barely suits up while Charles and I have him in the rotation.

*I was the only person who predicted a partial guarantee player making the final roster. I really think it could be Mejri or Mdour that would have the best chance, but I have Mdour beating out Powell for a roster spot. This is a gut call, especially after a strong summer league from Powell, but I think Mdour’s hustle and rebounding could be appealing to the Mavs.

*With Felton being a guy who normally didn’t dress last year, Kohl was the only one who has Felton dressing on a nightly basis.
