With just over a week until the regular season, the Dallas Mavericks have received some unfortunate news when it comes to injuries.

Kyrie Irving injured his groin during the preseason, but he seems to be doing better as he was a full participant at practice on Monday, and star guard Luka Doncic is out for the final preseason game with a left calf strain.

This isn't the first time that Doncic has injured his left leg, and the minor soft tissue injuries have proved to be no joke for him in the past.

Along with the injury news to Doncic, it now seems that two more of Dallas' guards are on the injury report as of Tuesday. According to Mavs head coach Jason Kidd (in an interview after practice posted by Brad Townsend of Dallas Morning News), guard Jaden Hardy sprained his ankle at practice, and Josh Green fell on his back on Monday, causing him to miss practice on Tuesday.

This is the worst possible news that Dallas could have gotten, as both players will be important pieces in the rotation this season. Green has been battling for the starting spot on the wing, while Hardy will be a vital scoring option off the bench.

This injury to Green specifically is coming at an unfortunate time, as he is eligible for a contract extension. Green wants to remain in Dallas, but it remains unknown how aggressive Dallas is being in these contract negotiations.

Dallas' deadline to extend Green is on October 23, and if this injury is serious, they could decide to hold off on extending him (although it doesn't sound too serious).

Both of these injuries are untimely for Dallas, as the season opener against the San Antonio Spurs is quickly approaching, and being at full strength to begin the regular season is ideal.

Will Josh Green and Jaden Hardy be ready for Dallas' opening game next week against the Spurs next week?

Both questions will be answered soon, and we'll have you covered.
