Thing to watch for in Dallas Mavericks preseason opener vs. Jazz: 3. New faces

The Mavs have six new players on their 17-man (currently 20-man) roster heading into the new season. Frank Ntilikina will be rested on Wednesday night, but the other five should be in line for ample minutes.

Dallas resting Dorian Finney-Smith and Ntilikina opens up significant minutes on the wing to showcase new signings, Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown. Bullock is projected to be in the starting five versus Utah, but head to the bench in the regular season. He started all but one of his 65 games with the Knicks last season, so the preseason opener could be a chance for Bullock to prove he fits well with the starting group. Brown is likely to see plenty of playing time off the bench versus the Jazz on Oct. 6.

The Mavericks traded for Moses Brown this offseason. The 7’2 big man is a developing center that should play massive minutes, especially in the second half on Oct. 6. He is a fierce rebounder and figures to put on a show versus the Jazz.

The Dallas Mavericks also have two new two-way players in Eugene Omoruyi and JaQuori McLaughlin that should get significant run in the second half. It will be a fantastic opportunity to see all the fresh faces play and get a first look at their skill sets.
