New eligible Dallas Mavericks trade target: 1. Myles Turner

The Pacers are reportedly heading for a rebuild, and the Mavericks should be calling on multiple players. Finding a way to create a Myles Turner homecoming would be a massive upgrade for Dallas, and it solves possibly their biggest issue.

The Mavs want to play Kristaps Porzingis at the four, but their production at the five has been abysmal. Dwight Powell and Willie Cauley-Stein are both struggling and are candidates to be dropped from the rotation if Dallas can find an upgrade on the trade market.

Turner is one of the league’s best shot-blockers, and he shoots 35.5 percent from 3-point range for his career. The 25-year-old could be a pick and roll partner for Luka Doncic and an important floor spacer that would open up the Mavericks' struggling offense. On defense, he would immediately improve Dallas too, even if the fit next to Kristaps Porzingis takes some time to figure out.

The Dallas Mavericks need to add more talent before the Feb. 10 trade deadline if they want to make a playoff run this year. More players will become available as the deadline draws near. Hopefully, new general manager and president of basketball operations Nico Harrison is active and aggressive, and fans should keep it locked to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest.
