Dallas Mavericks stud from win over shorthanded Pelicans: 1. Jalen Brunson

Brunson has arguably been the Mavs' best player to start the 2021-2022 season. He is second on the team in scoring and assists, and the only non-big man that is shooting over 43 percent from the field.

JB was the player of the game against New Orleans as he went for 17 points, six assists, four rebounds, and one steal. Brunson was seven of 12 from the field and a perfect three of three on his free throws as Dallas outscored the Pelicans by 26 points during his 31 minutes on the floor.

The Mavericks need a secondary ball-handler and creator to play next to Luka Doncic, and Jalen Brunson has stepped up to fill that role. He has taken another massive step forward in his fourth NBA season and should be in the running for Sixth Man of the Year.

The New Orleans Pelicans managed to hang around on Nov. 8, but the Dallas Mavericks' 16-point victory was their largest of the season and only the second by double-digits.

Fans have been panicked by the start, but Dallas has won seven of the first ten and sits third in the Western Conference. Jalen Brunson has been fantastic, and the best is still yet to come from the 2021-2022 Mavs.
