Dallas Mavericks stud from home win over Celtics: 2. Kristaps Porzingis
KP returned and wasted no time showcasing his skill set. He had four quick points in the first quarter to shake off any rust after missing five straight games, and the Unicorn kept getting better as the contest went on. He played in shorter bursts on Saturday night as coach Jason Kidd and the Mavs limited him to 28 minutes, which worked nicely.
Porzingis had a massive fourth quarter to help the Mavericks win. Ten of his 21 points came in the final period, and the Unicorn upped his defense too. It was a strong first game back after missing more than a week of action as he finished with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block to go with his scoring.
The Dallas Mavericks need Kristaps Porzingis to be their second scorer, and he delivered on Saturday night as the team picked up its first signature win of the season. It would have been easy to fold after Boston made their massive comeback, but the Unicorn helped lead them to a hard-fought victory.
KP’s back injury looks to be behind him. Hopefully, the Unicorn has no ill effects after this game, and he is ready to go on Monday night as the Mavericks host the New Orleans Pelicans.
