Dallas Mavericks stud in dominant win over Hornets: 1. KP
Kristaps Porzingis dominated the shorthanded and undersized Hornets from the opening tipoff on Monday night. He was blocking shots, running the floor, and scoring at will. It was a true Unicorn performance. See one of his many incredible sequences below.
KP had 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks in the first half on Dec. 13. He shot seven of 13 from the field and made three 3-pointers in the opening 24 minutes of action. Porzingis looked unstoppable in what was his first 20-point ten-rebound half of his NBA career. It was just the third performance since 2010 where a player posted at least 20 points, ten rebounds, and three blocks in a half, according to Mavs PR.
The Mavs needed just 25 minutes from Porzingis on Monday night as they dominated the Hornets. KP finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocks as Dallas outscored Charlotte by 12 in his time on the floor.
It was an impressive performance by the Unicorn and just what the Mavericks needed to grab their second straight win. The Lakers are next to the schedule and that means Kristaps Porzingis matching up against Anthony Davis. Luka Doncic could be out again on Wednesday night. Either way, Dallas will need plenty from KP, and the Unicorn looks ready to deliver.
