The Dallas Mavericks dominated the Charlotte Hornets 120-96 on Dec. 13. They were on the second night of a back-to-back and playing without superstar Luka Doncic, but it did not matter. The Mavs came out hot and blew out the Hornets at the American Airlines Center.

Charlotte had four players out in the health and safety protocols, including LaMelo Ball, but their defense has been subpar all season. They allowed 70 first-half points and just could not get back in the game as the Mavs picked up their second straight win and went back over .500 on the year.

Kristaps Porzingis had a historic performance as Doncic sat with an ankle injury, and the Unicorn was far from the only one who stood out. Here is a closer look at the team’s performance.

Dorian Finney-Smith came out and dropped 13 points in the third quarter, but it was barely a footnote in the game. That goes to show fans just how well Dallas played on Monday night.

Tim Hardaway Jr. had his shot dialed in to finish with 19 points and five 3-pointers made. He also dished out four dimes and picked up some of the playmaking duties without LD. THJ  played well, but it was not enough to be one of the standouts of the game.

Dallas Mavericks fans are hoping to see more of the Charlotte Hornets. They defeated Charlotte by 68 in the preseason and followed it up with another impressive victory on Dec. 13. Here is a look at two players that stood out and one who struggled on Monday night.
