Dallas Mavericks stud from home loss to Wizards: 1. Luka Doncic
Luka came out attacking on Saturday night, including a handful of drives to the basket to get rolling. The results were 15 first-quarter points, and the Mavs scored 36 in the opening 12 minutes. Their defense was leaky and gave up 41, but it was an impressive offensive showing from the 22-year-old superstar.
Doncic kept his foot on the gas pedal all night against Washington as he finished with 33 points, four rebounds, and ten assists in 37 minutes of action. The Mavericks needed more from Luka with JB out, and he handled a massive workload on Saturday night. Doncic finished 13 of 25 from the field and produced his ninth double-doubles of the season.
Dallas was outscored by 11 points with Luka on the floor on Saturday night. Head coach Jason Kidd and his staff need to find a way to end that season-long trend. The Mavericks have dominated his minutes in his first three seasons, and it could be as simple as playing him in more single big man lineups.
It was a disappointing home loss, but Luka Doncic put on a show on Nov. 27. The Dallas Mavericks will look to bounce back as they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night in their final game in November. Please tune in and enjoy the show.
