Dallas Mavericks stud in third win of season over Spurs: 1. Luka Doncic
Luka talked about being more aggressive after Wednesday’s loss to the Bulls in Chicago, and he did not disappoint against the rival Spurs. The 22-year-old superstar was making plays all over the court on Nov. 12, and fans were even treated to his first dunk of the 2021-2022 season.
It was a night of season firsts for Doncic as he also had triple-double number one. Luka grabbed a third-quarter rebound to finish off the feat, but he was far from done there. It was Doncic’s 37th career triple-double, which adds one more to his franchise record, and he is one away from producing the most triple-doubles for an NBA player under 23 years old.
Luka finished with 32 points, 12 rebounds, 15 assists, and two steals as he shot 11 of 23 from the field with six 3-pointers made in San Antonio. The Mavs outscored the Spurs by six during his 36 minutes on the floor in what could be the start of the turnaround of his plus-minus numbers.
The Dallas Mavericks dominated the San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 12 in what was arguably their best game of the season. It was unquestionably Luka’s, and do not be surprised to see it be the start of a hot streak for the 22-year-old superstar because the best is still yet to come for Doncic and the Mavs.
