Dallas Mavericks stud in third win of season over Spurs: 2. Kristaps Porzingis
KP was off to a slow offensive start to the 2021-2022 season. He missed five of the team’s first 11 games with a back injury, and the 26-year-old was shooting just 38.8 percent from the field and 29.0 percent on his threes coming into Friday’s game in San Antonio.
Porzingis found his rhythm as he went for 32 points on 12 of 22 shooting from the field, including making three 3-pointers. The Unicorn also chipped in seven rebounds in his 34 minutes of action. It was KP’s first 30-point game of the 2021-2022 season, and he has now scored 20-plus in three of his four games since returning from injury on Nov. 6.
Porzingis looks health. He is moving better on the defensive end of the floor, and fans know he can make a massive impact on offense. Hopefully, Friday’s win over the Spurs breaks him from his early-season slump and has him back to producing like the Unicorn.
The chemistry between Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis was strong on Nov. 12 as the 22-year-old superstar dished out seven of his 15 dimes to the Unicorn. When the Mavs duo is clicking like that, the team is almost impossible to stop.
