Rumors: Ben Simmons wants to play for Dallas Mavericks
Sky Sports’ Mo Mooncey dropped the rumor that Ben Simmons prefers to play with the Warriors or Mavs if he heads to a Western Conference team. The 25-year-old point forward continues to sit out as he waits for the Sixers to trade him out of Philadelphia. So far, they have held firm in their asking price and no deal has materialized.
Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey continues to make it clear that he is in no rush to deal Simmons, and he is willing to ride it out until he gets another star in return. On his end, Simmons is prepared to sit out the entire season and has zero plans of rejoining the Sixers.
It is best for both parties if the three-time All-Star is dealt before the Feb. 10 deadline, but Philly is waiting for a worthy offer.
No not expect the Dallas Mavericks to meet the Sixers' asking price. They are not trading Luka Doncic for Simmons, and they do not have another star-level talent to offer Philadelphia.
Ben Simmons wanting to play with Luka Doncic in Dallas is a positive for Mavs fans as they attempt to chase marquee free agents in years ahead. All-Stars want to join forces with the Mavericks superstar.
