Dallas Mavericks who don’t look ready for regular season: 1. Dorian Finney-Smith

The Mavs were so good this preseason that it was difficult to put any player in this category. Finney-Smith did not perform up to par, but Dallas still outscored the opposition by 11.3 points per game when he was on the floor. Only three of the Mavericks on the 20-man training camp roster had a negative plus-minus, and only Trey Burke remains with the team heading into the regular season.

Finney-Smith missed some open spots this preseason and only averaged 5.3 points on 27.8 percent shooting from the field in 19.8 minutes per game over his three contests. It is a tiny sample that forecasts nothing for the regular season, except that Doe-Doe might not have his jumper locked in on opening night. Expect him to find it soon enough.

Finney-Smith did average five rebounds and two assists per game. Fans should expect a ton of dimes from Dallas this season as head coach Jason Kidd has the ball movement at an all-time high.

The Dallas Mavericks are ready for their regular-season opener on Oct. 21 in Atlanta. The Hawks present a difficult challenge in what should be one of the best games of opening week, so do not miss it.
