Ranking Dallas Mavericks from least to most untouchable

If the Mavs trade any of these three players, they would be moving from their depth in search of an upgrade.

11. Boban Marjanovic

Bobi moves up this list because he is an important locker room presence. The 7’4 big man is a situation option off the bench, but he improves the team’s chemistry and brings out plenty of smiles. Expect the Mavs to hold on to Marjanovic throughout the 2021-2022 season.

10. Sterling Brown

Dallas signed Brown to a two-year $6 million contract in the offseason as they looked to add wing depth and shooting. The 6’5 guard is coming off of a career year with the Rockets where he shot 42.3 percent from 3-point range, but he appears set to play a ten to 15-minute per game in the Mavs rotation. The Mavericks could certainly have him on the trade block by the deadline if things are not working out.

9. Dwight Powell

Powell is the team’s starting center, but he is by far the most likely one to be traded because of his $11 million salary for this season. Dallas could use an upgrade at the five if they are going to become serious title contenders. Can they build an enticing enough package around Powell’s salary to acquire a better option?
