The Dallas Mavericks are still in the early stages of training camp. Media day and a few days of practice are already in the books as the team builds towards the regular-season opener in Atlanta on Oct. 21. Superstar Luka Doncic is leading the way as the Mavs look to jump into title contention.

New head coach Jason Kidd and his staff are having a positive impact on the roster. The players talked during media day about his openness and communication being a welcomed change of pace. Kidd is making adjustments on both sides of the ball, and fans will have to wait to see how those impact the on-court product.

Coach Kidd let the media know his starting lineup at the beginning of training camp on Sept. 29, but will that stick? Here is a prediction of the starting five, sixth man, and closers for the Mavericks this season with plenty of talk about how things could evolve as the year progresses.

Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Dorian Finney-Smith, Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber, Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Burke, Reggie Bullock, and Frank Ntilikina have all been consistent starters at some point in their careers. There will be plenty of battles for playing time and roles throughout training camp.

Coach Jason Kidd and his staff will be looking at who fits best around superstar Luka Doncic and how they can maximize their production on both ends of the floor when selecting lineups. Here is a prediction for the Dallas Mavericks starting lineup, sixth man, and closers for the 2021-2022 season.
