Play from Dallas Mavericks win over Nuggets that stood out: 2. JB dunk

Jalen Brunson just keeps getting better. The fourth-year guard is playing so well that coach Jason Kidd cannot take him off the floor. He played 36 minutes in the win over the Nuggets, which was his second-most of the season. Brunson has played more than 30 minutes six times, and the Mavericks have won five of those contests.

Brunson did something fans rarely get to see on Monday night as he busted out a dunk. Check out the play below.

Bobby Karalla noted that it was Brunson’s first dunk since the 2018-2019 season, but it goes to show the confidence the 25-year-old is playing with right now. He could have easily laid the ball in the basket, but JB went for a dunk.

Brunson had another outstanding game against the Nuggets as he finished with 17 points, on eight of 12 shooting from the field with six assists. The Mavericks outscored Denver by ten points in JB’s 36 minutes of action.

Brunson is leading the second unit and closing games next to Luka Doncic in the backcourt. He is going to be in the running for Sixth Man of the Year and has quickly become one of the Dallas Mavericks' most important players.
