5 players the Mavericks need to trade away before the deadline

Players Dallas Mavericks need to trade away before deadline: 5. Moses Brown
Brown has shown flashes when given an opportunity to play this season. He had nine points, seven rebounds, and two blocks in just over 12 minutes in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Dec. 8. Just a few nights later, he scored 15 points in 20 minutes against the Thunder.
Brown plays with energy and is a force in the pick and roll. He attacks the glass and provides positive value on the offensive end of the floor, but his defense needs to improve for the 22-year-old to earn consistent minutes.
The talent is clearly there, and the Mavericks should be exploring his market. Is a rebuilding team willing to trade a veteran for Brown and a second-round draft pick? General manager and president of basketball operations Nico Harrison needs to make calls to find out.
The team’s salary crunch could be lessened by trading Brown and a draft pick for a veteran. The Mavericks will need to match salaries in almost any deal, which means Dallas must send away a player making a significant amount to make the math work out. Here are four veterans that the Mavs should be exploring the market on.
