Will former Dallas Mavericks guard Isaiah Thomas land another NBA chance?
Everyone is rooting for IT to land a full-time gig in the NBA. The two-time All-Star has dealt with a string of injuries that have set him back over the last five seasons. Going in the health and safety protocols after just one game with the Mavericks was just another hurdle for Thomas.
Brandon Knight outplayed IT in their stints with the Mavs, but both players looked ready to handle backup point duties in the NBA. Thomas has plenty of defensive concerns as a 32-year-old undersized point guard, and his team was outscored by 24 points in his 114 minutes of action so far this season.
IT needs to clear out of the health and safety protocols and regain his conditioning before another team is going to be willing to take a chance on him. Thomas improved his chances of getting another ten-day in his time with the Mavericks, but he has to wait for a team to be needy at the point guard position. Fans have likely not seen the last of Isaiah Thomas.
The Dallas Mavericks have just two players left in the health and safety protocols, but they have already started their run. Dallas has won five straight games and is playing outstanding defense over that stretch. Fans are not going to want to miss a contest and keep it locked to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest on the team.
