The Dallas Mavericks failed to land a marquee free agent this offseason, but they did improve their roster. Dallas added floor spacing, wing depth, and perimeter defense by signing Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown. They also traded for a developmental center in Moses Brown and re-signed Tim Hardaway Jr. and Boban Marjanovic as key pieces of their core moving forward. Throw on top a five-year extension for superstar Luka Doncic and it was a strong yet somewhat disappointing summer for the Mavs.

Luckily, they do not appear to be done. There is a new Goran Dragic rumor every week, and that may not be the only addition. The Mavericks created a $10.9 million trade exception in the Josh Richardson deal that they would love to use to improve their roster. Dallas is committed to building a title contender around Luka, and they know they need more pieces to make it a reality.

The Mavs currently have a full 15-man roster, so if a new player comes in, then someone has to go. Multiple players could be traded or waived if Dallas can acquire an upgrade. Here is a look at who might not finish the season with the Mavericks.

Just outside the top five are Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith because both players are on expiring contracts. If the Mavs get wind that either player plans to depart in free agency, expect Dallas to find a trade that gets them some value back. The Mavericks are likely to re-sign both players making it a moot point.

Here are the five current Dallas Mavericks that are most likely to call a new city home by the end of the 2021-2022 season.
