Dallas Mavericks player that can be traded away on Dec. 15: 5. Boban Marjanovic
The Mavs are not trading away Bobi, but he becomes eligible after signing a two-year deal worth $7 million during the 2021 offseason. The 7’4 big man is the team’s third center, but he is the perfect fit in that role. He can come in and change the game at any moment with his size and soft touch around the basket, but Dallas does not need him playing every night.
Boban’s on-court contributions are only a small piece of why the Mavericks are not going to trade him. They love his locker room presence and ability to lighten the mood. Marjanovic is beloved by all his teammates, and he brings positive energy every day. Bobi is always helping the Mavs, even if it is just with emotional support from the bench.
His friendship with Luka Doncic and impact in the locker room will keep him in Dallas. Boban is a connector, and the Mavericks were not letting him get away in free agency.
New general manager Nico Harrison may discuss Boban’s name, but the odds of him getting traded are under five percent. It could happen, but it would have to be in a blockbuster.
