Dallas Mavericks top option for two-way contract: 1. Theo Pinson
The first player the Mavs signed when their COVID outbreak began was Pinson. The 26-year-old has three seasons of NBA experience, and he was going off in the G League. TP averaged 16.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals in 32.9 minutes per game while shooting over 40 percent from 3-point range as the Maine Celtics were 10-2 in games that Pinson played.
The 6’5 wing has never been able to land a consistent role in the NBA, but he has been impressive in his first three games in Dallas. Pinson signed one day and was in the lineup the next where he finished with seven points, four rebounds, three assists, four steals, and one block in a win over the Timberwolves.
The 26-year-old is just entering his prime and competes hard on both ends of the floor. The Mavericks have targeted length and shooting to put around superstar Luka Doncic. Pinson has shot 38.4 percent over his 404 3-point attempts in the G League over the last three seasons combined. He would be a strong fit that is capable of playing an immediate role for the Mavs for the rest of this campaign.
