Adjustment Dallas Mavericks must make in Game 2 vs. Warriors: 3. Slow things down

Golden State is a difficult matchup. They have length and the ability to switch on defense coupled with a unique offense. No other team is flying around off-ball screens to create open 3-pointers the way the Warriors do. The Dubs wanted to get up the floor fast in Game 1 and shoot before the Mavericks could set their defense.

Dallas must slow things down. Luka Doncic will dictate the tempo when Dallas has the ball, and he likes to play in the halfcourt. The Mavs are going to bring the ball up and run plenty of pick and rolls and dribble handoffs to try to get Doncic going downhill.

Dallas needs to slow down the fast breaks and pushes on the other end of the floor. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will make transition 3-pointer all day because there is no defender to alter the shot. The Maverick must take care of the ball, and try to slow down the Warriors' attack.

What answers will Dallas have for Golden State’s off-ball movement? Can they keep Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in check without double-teaming? Expect Luka Doncic to dictate the tempo in Game 2 as they try to slow down the Dubs.
