Dallas Mavericks potential trade deadline wish list: 1. Zach LaVine
LaVine is the under-the-radar All-Star that could be moved at the trade deadline. The free-agent crop is weak in 2022, and he figures to be the marquee name. Teams wanting to jump the line will be calling the Chicago Bulls all season about his services.
The Bulls have made significant moves in the last year to get back into the playoffs. They traded for Nikola Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, and Lonzo Ball to become one of the most interesting teams this season. Will the experiment work out? If the Bulls are in the thick of the playoff race, Chicago is unlikely to deal LaVine, but a shakeup could come if they are struggling.
The 6’5 guard could also inform the Bulls that he is not re-signing with the team in the offseason leaving them with no option except trading him to recoup some value.
The Dallas Mavericks will struggle to push their way into any sweepstakes involving an All-Star player but expect them to make the call and try to convince the Bulls to agree to a deal. The Mavs will be active and aggressive leading up to the deadline in hopes of maximizing their roster this season, so stay tuned to see the final results.
