The Dallas Mavericks are hoping to take that next step this season after two straight first-round playoff exits. Superstar Luka Doncic let fans know his goal is to win a championship on media day, but winning a postseason series for the first time since taking home the title in 2011 would be considered a success.

The Mavs made massive behind-the-scenes changes this offseason and broke up their long-held stability. Donnie Nelson and Rick Carlisle are out after more than three combined decades with the organization with Nico Harrison taking over as general manager and Jason Kidd as head coach. The Hall of Fame point guard brought a new staff with him as the Mavericks hope to jump into title contention.
